Technical Leadership & Engineering Management
Chief Technical Officer at May
Flexible Benefit Fintech Platform
2023 - 2024 | Paris, France
Joining May in 2023, I inherited key challenges: consolidating the tech team and ensuring continuity after the previous CTO’s departure, enhancing the delivery process, and addressing security concerns.
Engineering Management & Tech Processes
Having recently left its Startup Studio, May needed to structure its hiring process. I implemented a comprehensive tech hiring strategy, redesigning the Tech Challenge and interview process to successfully onboard three engineers within two months. Additionally, I transformed the team dynamic and culture by shifting our core tech Talents from primarily freelance to permanent roles while providing technical insights and managing a team of six developers.
Growing the tech team also required organizing the tech-product flow accordingly. To achieve this, I led our project ceremonies: reducing daily meetings from hours to minutes, introducing task estimation meetings to foster collaborative discovery discussions, and reinstating key meetings such as retrospectives and weekly planning sessions (initially deemed optional but necessary at scale).
With a better-defined project flow, it became clear that some shared product-tech areas needed improvement. For instance, to address the lack of prioritization, I introduced priority codes (P0, P1, P2...) with clear explanations of requirements, scope, and urgency. Additionally, we aligned tech and product tasks with the Definitions of Done for Milestones, Epics, and Tickets with assigned owners and hand-offs, thereby concluding our project management restructuring.
Finally, I assumed ownership of the high-level product-tech roadmap. As a member of the steering committee (COPIL), I presented it to my peers and our shareholders. These coordinated tech-product initiatives drove a comprehensive application and platform overhaul.
Technical Leadership & Software Development
By coordinating three major Product-Tech projects (Custom Benefit Flexibility, Multi-Modal Payment Method & UI/UX Redesign of the Web/Mobile Application), I was able to identify pain points and development inefficiencies.
First, due to long-lived feature branches that created friction and prevented deployments, we transitioned from a Git Flow model (where a feature could take several weeks to test and deploy) to a trunk-based development approach. This shift effectively reduced our lead time—allowing a feature to be tested as soon as it was developed.
To do so, we had to decouple deployments from activations using feature flags. While the initial goal was to decongest our backlog of changes, we were also able to minimize risk and add flexibility by enabling controlled rollouts and user segmentation.
Other code-focused changes included better static code analysis integration via GitHub Actions and the introduction of end-to-end tests to improve our quality assurance processes.
Last but not least, one of my focuses was security strengthening. I established a suite of technical documentation and comprehensive security checklists, commissioned pentest missions, addressed discovered issues, and introduced an annual company-wide security briefing to globally enhance our approach to security at May.
With the creation of May, UpCoop was the first to introduce truly flexible and optimized benefits in France.

Technical Leadership & Engineering Management
Senior Director of Front-end Engineering at Prose
Data Driven Beauty Product & Made-to-Order Fulfillment Platform
2019 - 2023 | Paris, France; New York, USA
Engineering Management & Tech Processes
Joining Prose at an early stage, I was able to contribute to the scaling effort of the company. At first, focusing on safer code change processes by enforcing code reviews, introducing feature flags and owning end-to-end testing strategy I set up Prose tech team for success at any scale.
Having hiring challenges, I re-designed our hiring process with internal recruiter, and as front-end hiring manager, hired 14 engineers with minimal turnover.
With a growing tech team (from 7 to 34), the importance of a healthy tech culture became obvious. That is the reason why I led Tech monthly meetings, presentations (eg. Feature Flags, GraphQL, Next.js) as well as workshops (eg. Functional Programming, State management with Redux, Front-end Infrastructure).
It was also pivotal to ensure we had the right tools and processes in place when transitioning from a single tech team to multiple squads. Rising to this challenge, I helped design ”Definitions of Done” and ownership domain areas for day-to-day squad work as well as introduced and led cross-squad Task Force for highly technical projects.
From an organisational stand-point, I was responsible of designing, updating and presenting our internal Tech Growth Framework (ie. Tech Titles, Descriptions, Managerial Vs. Technical tracks) in order to provide evolution opportunities to a diverse and ever-growing tech team.
Finally, as Senior Director of Front-end engineering I was actively managing up to 12 front-end engineers across 4 squads (1-1, yearly goals, mentoring ) and had to design and introduce new management layers per squad to continue scaling the team.
Technical Leadership & Software Development
Project wise, the most critical period was during the lockdowns of 2020. Leveraging the recently implemented feature flags, we added various covid scenarios communications and kill-switches of the platform to ensure timely compliance with government regulations. There were also great market opportunities to seize in the B2C made-to-order Cosmetic industry, that’s when I had the biggest business impact by tech leading the Membership program of Prose converting one-time customers into recurring ones.
While diversifying our product line (eg. Dry Shampoo, Supplements), we kept optimising our platform technically (eg. Auth refactoring, Next.js migration) also adding A/B Testing capabilities to our feature flag service led to successful marketing optimisation on multiple aspects of the customer journey (eg. e-mail capture location, cart enhancements).
I was also directly involved in supporting our internal production lines by maintaining our custom back-office and implementing industry leading features (eg. QR code scan to produce, multi fulfilment lane support, refund system).
Prose reached $165M Yearly Revenue in 2024, becoming one of the major Beauty B2C Platform.

Software Developer & Technical Lead
Lead Front-end Engineer at Zepl
Data Analytics Platform & Notebooking Solution
2018 - 2019 | Seoul, Korea; San Francisco, USA
Joining Zepl, a Data Analytics Notebook service built on Apache Zeppelin, as Lead Front-end Engineer I had the opportunity to manage and provide technical vision to an existing team of 4 front-end engineers. After conducting performance profiling and publishing creative open source solutions (functional-immutable & react-redux-immutable modules), we enforced new best practices and were able to incrementally fix the editor typing latency issues and provide amazing interactivity as a result. Building on top of that success we implemented async data prepping (pivoting & trimming) as well as support for built-in charting library using Web Workers for parallelism, and internal browser IndexedDB for caching.
Following these technical enhancements we were able to support more business driven projects such as Snowflake integration and the ability to 1-click connect external datasources to a Zepl notebook.
These enhancements, as well as the new business & technical vision led Zepl to being acquired by DataRobot in 2021.
Software Developer & Technical Lead
Web Tech Lead at Korbit
Cryptocurrency Exchange & Remittance Services
2016 - 2018 | Seoul, Korea
Joining Korbit in 2016, I had the chance to work on groundbreaking cryptocurrency projects as a fullstack javascript developer in the remittance team. Leveraging existing Korbit’s cryptocurrency exchange, the projects I developed were highly technical but with a real-life application: A bitcoin to cash (KRW) withdrawal at ATM service, a bitcoin to Korean bank transfer service, a B2B international remittance service that was connecting multiple foreign bitcoin to bank transfer services providing a Dashboard for operators, a sign-up process with enhanced Due Diligence for customers, an admin panel for manual order confirmation as well as all the necessary static websites showcasing our services.
Following the first crypto boom of 2017, I was part of Korbit’s effort to future-proof our cryptocurrency exchange. After having successfully developed or enhanced multiple remittance services, I have been tasked to renew the exchange project web technologies. In parallel of supporting more coins, as the business was thriving, we aggressively hired new engineers growing my scope and responsibilities to providing technical vision and managing 6 engineers split into 3 squads (API, Website & Mobile) as Korbit’s Web Tech Lead.
The amazing growth of Korbit led to its acquisition by NXC (Nexon) in 2017.
